Antique French painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas work entitled Solomon and the Queen of Sheba of excellent pictorial quality. Painting of beautiful size and impact, richly adorned with a spectacular carved and gilded wooden frame.
Painting with pleasant depth, still vibrant colours. On the left we find city architecture with a crowd watching the scene. There is also a page accompanying a splendid white horse, a probable gift from the king to his guest. At the center of the scene the king is sitting on the throne with the young queen in sumptuous clothes next to him. On the right you can see several court figures also dressed in showy clothes attending the meeting.
Well preserved work which has undergone conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the frame and recovery of color in small spots. In good condition. Light painting H 85.5 x W 110.5 cm.
