Oil on canvas. Signed lower right. Jean Ferdinand Chaigneau was a painter of the Barbizon school, a realist landscape movement in Northern France. Here is one of his characteristic canvases featuring flocks of sheep in evocative landscapes, often with morning or evening light effects. The work is presented in an early 20th-century frame.
