Rare Scandinavian bar cabinet from the 1960s attributed to Kurt Østervig, central figure of Danish modernism, known for an elegant and measured design, always oriented towards construction quality and functionality. The piece of furniture is veneered in teak, with warm and regular grain, and rests on tapered legs which visually lighten the volume.
The characteristic horizontal roller closure conceals an articulated and sophisticated interior: a section with mirrored walls and a worked glass shelf, designed to enhance bottles and glasses, flanked by a compartment with small cutlery drawers and shelves for objects. There is an original and functioning lighting element. The brass handles introduce a delicate material contrast with the teak. Østervig, active mainly between the 1950s and 1960s, is appreciated for his ability to combine formal rigor and craftsmanship, making his furnishings particularly sought after by collectors.
