Swedish chest of drawers from 1962 in teak, six graduated drawers and sculpted handles. A rigorous example of high-quality Nordic modernism.
Teak sestina designed by Ingvar & Ekström for Bodafors, dated 1962 and accompanied by original trademark. The composition is punctuated by six drawers of different sizes, a solution that introduces a measured and functional visual rhythm. The handles, carved from solid wood with a characteristic flattened teardrop shape, reveal an almost artisanal attention to tactile detail. Bodafors, a historic Swedish manufacturer active since the 19th century, was one of the main interpreters of Nordic modernism, combining industrial precision and quality of wood. The work of Ingvar & Ekström is placed in this tradition, favoring balanced proportions, formal sobriety and a refined material expressiveness, which is particularly appreciated today in the collectors' field. The upper surface shows slight signs of wear, consistent with the age and use of the object.
