Oil on canvas.
Beautiful twentieth-century copy of Canaletto's work, created around 1736, painted in a private collection but known for its printed reproductions, particularly present in the series of engravings by Visentini made in 1742.
The foreshortening depicts the Venetian place of the same name with the church of San Salvador on the left and the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro in the center; numerous figures, elegant gentlemen walking and commoners and artisans intent on their works, animate the scene.
The work, much larger than the original painting, has a great decorative and scenographic impact.
It is presented in a stylish frame.
