Oil on canvas.
Particular is this Madonna who supports her Child lying on a pillow and soundly asleep. Mary looks at the viewer, almost showing off her Son, with a serious and understanding gaze of her destiny of which the little one instead seems completely unaware, still simply a child, not the Son of God.
The physiognomic features of the two figures are also particular, in particular in Mary the rounded and plump face, the snub nose, the round eyes, the not slender physical structure which are very far from the more traditional representations of the Madonna.
At the top left there are some letters of a writing that are cut.
The painting has been restored and relined in the past.
It is presented in a stylish frame.
