Lampada Mezzachimera di Vico Magistretti per Artemide anni '70
Good condition with some inevitable signs of time and use see photos. A PART OF THE PLASTIC DEFORMED BY THE HEAT OF THE INCANDESCENT BULBS INCREASES ITS CHARM AND UNIQUENESS. Its sinuous curves resulting from the shaping of a sheet of frosted methacrylate softly diffuse the light. It brings together “simplicity and concept” which for Magistretti are at the heart of durable design. Ludovico "Vico" Magistretti (Milan, 6 October 1920 - Milan, 19 September 2006) was one of the most important Italian designers, architect and urban planner. His clean and essential design has characterized and inspired the world of creating furniture for the home, office and company throughout the second part of the twentieth century. The legendary Italian lighting company Artemide was founded in the province of Milan in 1959 by the designer and engineer Ernesto Gismondi, born in Sanremo in 1931, and by the designer Sergio Mazza, born in Milan in 1931. As is known, it was the latter who designing the Alfa Lamp, the company's first successful product, a year before the launch of Artemide. In the following decades both founders continue to create new designs for the ever-evolving collections of Artemide, whose goal is to develop distinctive and eye-catching lamps, including pendant and ceiling lamps, in collaboration with the major design talents from all over the world.
