This bookcase is characterized by its sleek, vertical metal frame and several evenly spaced horizontal shelves. Made from steel sheets, the 'Congresso' is a sturdy yet unassuming bookcase that can be used as a storage solution or a room divider, making it a versatile addition to any space. The shelves are flat with raised sides, ensuring items stay securely in place. The metal sheets at the end of the shelf are placed upwards, doubling as bookends. Lips Vago, an Italian company founded in the mid-20th century when the Italian company Vago merged with Dutch company Lips. The company's designs, including this bookcase, are highly regarded for their robust construction and ability to blend into various interior settings, from residential to commercial spaces. Its clean lines, durable metal construction, and functional elegance are hallmarks of the Lips Vago brand. Its popularity was such that it was awarded the Smau Industrial Design Award in 1968.
