date and location: 21 and 22 May, Rome

Those who will be in Rome between Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May will have the opportunity to participate in Open House Rome, the large public event organized by Open City Rome, totally free, which in a single weekend opens the doors of historic buildings, contemporary architectures, places of excellence in the city that are not normally accessible.

Among 200 palaces, 50 events and 40 free tours around the city and its surroundings, the tenth edition of the event promises to be full of news, revealing contemporary and historical architecture that will be exceptionally open for the occasion: from the interesting interiors of the house museum of the writer Alberto Moravia (in the picture) up to the 1930s architecture, functional but with a great aesthetic impact of the former House of the War Blind, designed by the architect Pietro Aschieri... from the spacious Salone delle Fontane to the Eur, articulated on columns and floors in refined Carrara marble, naturally lit by large windows 9 meters high, ranging towards the surroundings of Rome.

For example, visits and tours are organized in Ostia, which contains some of the most interesting architectures of the masters of the Modern. The program includes several visits to michelangelesque Tor San Michele, to the splendid frescoes found in the Salone Riario in Ostia Antica, to the small villa of Adalberto Libera and to the eclectic "Palazzo del Pappagallo". But these are just some of the higlights. Happy Roman weekend with openhouseroma.org!
