This majestic and elegant French chandelier, crafted in the Louis XVI style, features the classic hot air balloon shape, a hallmark of the opulence and charm of that period. Strands of variously shaped crystals, meticulously assembled by hand, are artfully arranged and suspended from a structure reminiscent of a basket—hence the French term sac-à-perles. The entire frame is enveloped in delicate crystal beading, giving the chandelier a luminous quality even when unlit. The central band, made of gilt brass, is richly adorned with floral motifs and four traditional cast brass masks. A second decorative ring is positioned higher up, at the base of a globe formed entirely of crystals. Above this globe sits a floral cast element with a central metal hook for ceiling mounting. The same element also houses the wires that power the four internal light sources. Hundreds of cut crystals—octagonal and rectangular prisms—create a cascading effect of radiant beauty. When lit, the internal bulbs cause the crystals to refract light into infinite reflections and facets, casting enchanting patterns throughout the room. Even in natural daylight, the chandelier offers a striking interplay of glimmering highlights. Handmade between 1990 and 1995 by a craftsman near Paris, this chandelier is a unique piece inspired by the lavish aesthetics of Louis XVI. Created in a small artisan workshop, it represents an exquisite and unrepeatable work of decorative art. Perfect for a living room or dining room, its classical elegance and romantic silhouette make it highly versatile and easy to integrate into a variety of interiors. The electrical system is in working condition but wired for European standards; voltage compatibility in other countries must be verified by a qualified electrician before use. This chandelier has been thoroughly and meticulously restored by hand using traditional techniques by our team of expert artisans. It is in excellent condition. Dimensions: Diameter 60 cm (23.6 in), Height 114 cm (44.9 in).
