We offer this unique Italian filing cabinet from the 1920s, made of solid oak. At the top there is the original label of the manufacturer from Genoa (northern Italy).
This stunning piece of furniture, designed for office use, has a distinctive design and meticulously crafted construction for maximum convenience. The upper shelf is equipped with 18 drawers, each of which is extractable. A mechanism allows the front part to be lowered to facilitate access when consulting and extracting documents. The drawers are perfectly sized to hold letters or small documents. Each drawer features elegant gold-plated brass handles engraved on the front, designed with a space for a descriptive label to catalog the documents inside. The drawers can be locked with a side locking mechanism. Note that the lock is present, but the original keys have been lost, so it will not be possible to lock the drawers.
Towards the end of the drawers there are two special extractable shelves designed to quickly and conveniently store and consult documents removed from the drawers.
At the bottom, a sliding shutter opens to reveal three tall compartments for storing small books or documents that needed to be stored vertically.
Please note that some drawers have a flaw on the front, due to age and wear. This prevents them from closing properly, but does not compromise the overall aesthetics. Please examine all photos carefully. There are also some signs of wear inside the drawers.
In conclusion, this 1920s office furniture retains the quality of Italian manufacturing and a unique historical charm.
