Sculptural coffee table created by transforming a traditional wooden boat into a functional interior object. The elongated wooden hull is carefully preserved and elevated on a purpose-made wooden stand, while a clear glass top allows full visibility of the boat’s interior construction and craftsmanship.
The piece represents a contemporary design intervention, recontextualizing an authentic maritime form within an interior setting. Its restrained presentation, emphasis on material honesty, and sculptural character draw inspiration from Scandinavian and Italian design approaches of the 1970s, where functional objects were often treated with sensitivity to form, craftsmanship, and natural materials.
The table is presented in very good condition, showing visible signs of previous use consistent with the boat’s original function. The wooden surfaces display an authentic patina, including minor surface wear and small imperfections that contribute to the object’s character and narrative. The glass top and supporting structure are in excellent functional condition.
Balancing raw authenticity with refined minimal additions, the table functions both as a practical surface and as a sculptural centerpiece. Its strong visual identity and material presence make it suitable for residential interiors, galleries, showrooms, or concept-driven commercial spaces.
