Splendid free-standing (mantelpiece) pendulum clock in the Napoleon III style (Second half of the 19th century), a piece of fine French cabinetry and mechanics. The clock is in perfect aesthetic and preservation condition, with intact marbles and gleaming bronzes. The body is made of fine Belgian Black Marble with veined Red Marble inlays, enhanced by two majestic fluted columns and bronze friezes depicting classical scenes with putti. Prominent features: Fine mechanics: Enameled dial with Arabic numerals and rare visible escapement, a highly sought-after detail that allows the movement of the rubies to be observed as they work. Architectural Design: Solid temple structure, typical of 19th-century eclecticism. Conservation status: Excellent, marble free of chipping and original glass intact.
