Item description

Elegant and sophisticated pair of Italian flush-mount ceiling lights, distinguished by a refined balance between geometric rigor and the richness of materials. The fixtures were produced in a high-quality artisanal workshop active in the Milan area and can be dated to approximately 1965–1970. They feature an octagonal structure in polished brass, finely crafted, enclosing panels of satin glass alternated with clear beveled glass elements. This combination, the result of an advanced and refined artisanal technique, creates a subtle interplay of reflections, transparency, and depth. At the center, a geometric grid in clear glass adds rhythm and three-dimensionality to the composition, echoing the architectural language of Italian design of the period, typical of high-end ceiling lights of the era. The interior is fitted for four light sources, thoughtfully arranged to provide soft, evenly diffused illumination, enhancing both the surrounding space and the fixture itself. The high level of craftsmanship—evident in the precision of the assembly and the careful selection of materials—attests to a medium- to high-end production associated with the finest Italian manufacturers specializing in decorative lighting during the second half of the 20th century. These ceiling lights successfully combine functionality with sculptural elegance and remain visually striking even when not illuminated, thanks to their strong architectural presence and the refined contrast between warm brass and opaline glass. They recall the principles of Italian Rationalism and the interest in polygonal forms widely explored in lighting design throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Stylistic affinities can be noted with works produced within the orbit of Fontana Arte, Stilnovo, Reggiani, and Sciolari, although no definitive attribution can be made. Ideal for formal entryways, living rooms, dining areas, professional offices, or executive interiors, these fixtures integrate seamlessly into modern, mid-century, contemporary, or eclectic settings. They are equally suited to minimalist interiors, where they become a focal point, and to reinterpreted classical environments, where they dialogue elegantly with noble materials such as wood, marble, and mirrored surfaces.
