Item description

Set of 4 vintage rattan and bamboo chairs, featuring a refined design that recalls the Gothic or "cathedral" style. Back: It features a fretwork (tracery) structure with intertwined pointed arches, typical of Gothic architecture, which give it a slender and elegant appearance. Materials: The structure is made of dark-toned rattan or bamboo reeds (often referred to as "tobacco" or "dark mordant"). The joints are typically reinforced with rawhide or pith ligatures to ensure stability and durability. Seat: Fixed padded cushions, covered in a light-colored fabric (ivory or off-white) that creates a sharp contrast with the dark structure. Origin and Style: This design is associated with famous high-end rattan furniture manufacturers such as McGuire of San Francisco (active since the 1950s/1960s) or with Italian designer productions of the 1970s and 1980s. They fit perfectly into environments with a Boho-Chic, Regency or Ethnic-Modern style. The chairs are 101 cm high, 46 cm wide, 55 cm deep, seat height 47 cm. Excellent overall condition, see photo, a seat has a small tear in the skin, however normal signs of age may be present, but nothing that could compromise its beauty or stability.
