Elegant wall light, also suitable as a ceiling mount ceiling fixture, made in Italy in the 1960s and attributable to a Murano glass manufacture. The thick blown glass diffuser is distinguished by a refined controlled bubble technique, achieved by incorporating minute air inclusions within the glass mass. This process gives the surface a vibrant, geometric texture reminiscent of a honeycomb structure, capable of modulating light in a warm and enveloping manner. Particularly widespread in Italian production between the 1950s and 1970 (sespecially in the Venetian area) this technique is here executed with notable quality: the bubbles are regular and fully integrated within the thickness of the glass, rather than merely superficial, indicating true hot-working craftsmanship rather than simple industrial molding. The lighting body is completed by a lacquered metal backplate fitted with two ceramic bulb sockets—standard for the period—ensuring a balanced and diffused illumination. The structure is designed for both wall and ceiling installation, making the piece highly versatile. This type of reversible flush mount/wall light is highly representative of Italian Mid-Century design; comparable examples are often generically attributed to Murano manufactures in the absence of a specific designer. This piece can be confidently dated between 1960 and 1965. The amber tone of the glass further enhances the quality of light, producing soft, deep reflections that enrich the space with an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere.
