Set of 4 Vintage 1970s/1980s Cantilever Chairs – Space Age/Bauhaus Style – [Color, e.g., Dove Grey/Brown] cantilever chairs dating back to the late 1970s/early 1980s. A perfect example of modernist and Space Age design, strongly inspired by the historic Bauhaus geometry and Marcel Breuer's famous Cesca model. The chairs are distinguished by their characteristic continuous sled frame in chromed metal tubing, which offers a flexible seat and unique sprung comfort. The seat and backrest feature rounded corners and are upholstered in soft velvet/suede-effect fabric with refined geometric stitching along the edge, typical of the aesthetics of the era.
Matching
Splendid square table in true Space Age style, crafted to the highest standards in Italy, featuring high-quality construction, ideal for capturing the then-trendy Space Age style.
Top: Thick, original, square sheet of smoked glass. The corners are elegantly rounded, and the perimeter profile features a refined finish with polished ground edges.
Supporting structure:
Supported by four cylindrical legs in polished chrome-plated metal. Structural stability is ensured by a geometric, square-section frame that runs 10 cm beneath the top, acting as a connecting beam to hold the legs together.
Designer joints:
The stylistic highlight lies in the corners, where the metal head of each leg partially protrudes halfway beyond the glass perimeter. The glass is held in place and cushioned by the original caps with crescent-shaped black rigid rubber inserts, which act as a perfect anti-slip and noise-reducing cushion directly under the glass.
CHAIRS AND TABLE CAN BE SOLD SEPARATELY.
