Aldo Tura was not an experimental furniture designer who has been involved in the manual production of tables, cabinets and lamps since the 1930s. In 1939 he founded his own furniture laboratory in Lombardy.
His stylistic mix of Art Deco and Art Nouveau with a minimalist design has exceeded the limits of traditional craftsmanship. Following the Art Deco movement, which focused on straight lines and angles, Tura's drawings contained fluid lines and free shapes. The limited edition of the Tura works is of high quality craftsmanship, some pieces exist only as a prototype. He used a variety of unusual materials, such as egg shells, parchment, goatskin and wood veneers in his designs. His objects are often held in the colors red, green and yellow (more rare in dark blue or purple) they were sometimes also equipped with wheels or wheels and fittings in bronze or brass.
When many furniture manufacturers relied on mass production in the post-war years, Tura remained faithful to traditional craftsmanship.
