American-made physical political globe by the firm of W.& A.K. Johnston, one of the leading map publishers of the 19th century based in Edinburgh, cartography A-J Nystrom & Co Chicago edited by A.E. Parkins. Aluminium globe covered with cartography from 1910 to 1920, complete with cast iron base with telescopic pole. The globe can be rotated and tilted by degrees, complete with brass meridian. Very good state of preservation with slight signs of wear. The globe is 16 inches in diameter, the cast iron base is 44 cm. The cast iron telescopic pole allows the globe to be carried from a minimum height of 114 cm to a maximum of 160 cm. Collector's item and difficult to find.
