Baroque bronze chandelier, 18th century. Originally latch (see the small handle under the sphere) and candle-powered, it was subsequently modified and electrified; the lamp holders are made of wood and date back to the early 20th century. It requires E14 bulbs. Structure made up of five arms and ten lights. The bronze was melted with the "colata in terra" technique, a process in which the molten metal is poured into a mold composed of a special earth, called foundry earth; at the end of the process this is crushed to take out the piece. In the vast majority of cases, the piece obtained must undergo further processing, in particular finishing. Even in this chandelier you can still see the small imperfections caused by the fusion.
