Louis XVI flap in walnut root with inlaid inserts, '800

Description: Antique Louis XVI Lombard flap plated in walnut briar with inlays in precious exotic woods belonging to the 18th century. The front is marked by two large drawers with a rose window in the center while the one above is smaller and highlighted by garlands. In the two lower drawers the separation is not highlighted, thus creating a large mirror with the dark and shiny splendor of the walnut with the veneer arranged in a fishbone pattern. The flap door has the same decoration as the part below but of smaller proportions which closes a decoration made up of beaded festoons, holding floral motifs. Internally the flap has six drawers that can be removed using bronze knobs from the same period. We find the same frame on the sides where it frames the same inlay with a beautiful play of woods between walnut, rosewood and bois de rose. The truncated pyramid legs are enriched by the presence of a geometric pattern inlay. Conditions: To be restored. Provenance: Lombardy 18th century. Measurements: 123x58 H116cm.
