Rudolf Lorenz, Art Deco Cabinet-Highboard, Lorenz Möbel, Vienna, 1928

A truly unique collector’s item! This elegant, compact cabinet with a modern silhouette was designed in 1928 by Rudolf Lorenz for the Austrian company Lorenz Möbel — a design that was far ahead of its time. Due to its clean lines and functionalist approach, it is often stylistically associated with the Scandinavian modernism of the 1960s and '70s, despite its earlier origin. The piece is made from solid larch wood and features black walnut knob handles. Following a full structural restoration, the cabinet was treated with a multi-layer oil finish that highlights the natural grain and warm tone of the larch. All components, including the lock and key, are original. The restoration process is documented with photos and required approximately 120 hours of careful craftsmanship. Dimensions: 168 cm (H) × 100 cm (W) × 48 cm (D) History: This is the only known example identified to date — a remarkable rarity with historical and design significance.
