Pair of Lambda chairs by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper for Gavina, 1959
Rare set of two Lambda chairs, designed by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper for Gavina in 1959. The Lambda chair can be considered the precursor of many plastic chairs that were designed and produced later. In fact, it was also designed to be produced in molded plastic, but the technology present at the time prevented its realization. It was then folded on a technology, the molded sheet metal, which was suitable for craft production, but not for mass production. In fact the Lambda chair was produced in small series between 1959 and 1964, the year in which it went out of production. Now it is part of the permanent collection of Design at MOMA in New York. Perfect conditions, completely restored.
