Item description
Traccia table by Meret Oppenheim for Simon Gavina with elliptical top with shaped edge, feet made of cast bronze. Upper part of the top in pure gold leaf. Italy circa 1980. Defects on the top due to use and age. In order to preserve the top it has been placed on a custom-made glass. Bibliography: Original Simon Gavina catalogue. V. Vercelloni, L'avventura del design: Gavina, Jaca Book, Milan, 1992, ill. 91. The clawed feet that form the legs of the table refer to a fanciful bird as do the footprints on the top of the table in gold leaf.
