Lot Table + 4 "Selene" chairs - Design Vico Magistretti for Artemide (1969) Rare and fascinating set consisting of a stadium model table and four Selene model chairs, designed by Vico Magistretti for Artemide in 1969, authentic symbols of Italian design of the second half of the twentieth century. The chairs, stackable and light, are made of reinforced plastic resin through monobloc molding: a technical innovation that has revolutionized the design of the time. The table, also in plastic, shares the same essentiality and formal functionality, perfectly coordinated. This lot is proposed in the refined red coloring and is authenticated by the brand impressed under each session and under the table top, with the following wordings: Chairs: "Artemide - Selene model - Design Vico Magistretti - Made in Italy" Table: "Spa Artemide Milan-Stadium 8o-Ara model-Vico Magistretti Design-Made in Italy-Patent Pending" On the table level there is also the classic circular indicator with the months from 1 to 12, typical of the plastic printed: the engraved arrow aims at number 1, attesting to a production in January. Structurally intact and stable. The table shows more evident signs of the time, in particular on the edges, with scratches and visible wear. It has been partially restored with specific products to nourish plastic and standardize the color, keeping consistency with the original era and material. It should be emphasized that scratches and imperfections on this type of set are characteristic of the use itself, since each stacking inevitably leaves traces on the surfaces. The structure of the table is solid: there are still slices, original bolts and - rare detail - the original black doters on the feet, often lost over time.
