Item description

Bertil Vallien Galaxy series bottle for the 1982 åfors glassworks. It consists of objects with wires and points on a white surface. Bertil Vallien (1938–) designed many classics for the Swedish glassworks of åfors, Boda and Kosta. One of the best known series is 1982 Galaxy. Produced by Kosta Boda of Sweden. A beautiful piece of the Galaxy series of the 80s. The piece is blown and worked entirely by hand with applied glass accents, the main body is transparent, decorated with opaque white glass paste, a darker red wire design applied on the main body and a dark red stain on the front. Signed under the base "Kosta Boda B. Vallien", Artist coll. engraved with needle. B Vallien 78199; Height 7 cm. and with a catalog number. Bertil Vallien is a contemporary Swedish artist, known above all for his mysterious and ethereal melted glass sculptures in sand. His works are representative forms of mystical and coded that evoke the aesthetic of primitivism, archeology and ancient runes Both the bottles and the Galaxi vase come from The Artist Collection, a concept introduced by Vallien to give glass artists the freedom of personal and creative expression and to remove the feeling of "mass production". Whether the pieces have been created as part of The Artist Collection or Atelier, they are works in the studio in limited edition and individual for the artist who created them. Since each piece is blown by hand, this also makes the final furniture of each piece unique. Those who are familiar with the hand blowing process or hot -to -work processing will know that the glass must reach 1,320 ° C (2,400 ° F) to merge and also the working temperature is 1,090 ° C (2,000 ° F). This knowledge alone is sufficient to appreciate the care, effort and ability necessary to create these glass miniature works of art. Dim. L.6.5xp.4xh.7 cm approximately
