An elegant pair of tall solid wood pedestals/plant stands, featuring a slender frame and rectangular glazed ceramic tiles with polychrome floral decorations.
The two pedestals share the same construction: a square wooden top, four long uprights, open vertical elements, and shaped crosspieces in the center and bottom.
The ceramic tiles are the main decorative element. The motifs are different on the two pieces but conceived in the same style: one features a large pink flower with dark green leaves on an ivory background, while the other features a more intricate floral decoration in shades of red, green, yellow, and purple.
The glaze crackle is visible on the ceramic surface, particularly evident on the tile with the pink flower.
Due to their construction and decorative features, the pair can be traced back to the eclectic/Art Nouveau style of the first half of the 20th century, with Orientalist references that were widespread in European furnishings of the time.
The wood retains its finish and displays clearly visible grain, particularly on the upper surfaces. There are marks, small abrasions, and irregularities consistent with age and use, clearly documented in the photographs. The pair is in overall excellent condition.
Suitable for their original use as plant pots or as pedestals for ceramics, sculptures, and other decorative objects.
Sold exclusively as a pair.

The pedestals were purchased from an antique dealer in my city and, at the time of purchase, had already undergone conservative restoration. Since then, they have been carefully preserved and regularly cleaned and polished using products specifically designed for the maintenance and care of antique wood. The wood retains a beautiful patina and shows normal signs of age and use, visible in the photographs.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and show in detail the state of preservation of the two objects.
Note: To avoid undocumented attributions, no precise dating is indicated; the pair is offered based on their visible stylistic and construction characteristics.
Due to the size of the pedestals and my work commitments, I do not ship; collection is entirely the responsibility of the final buyer.
