Elegant pair of vintage table lamps featuring a handblown Murano glass sphere resting on a solid cylindrical brass base. The electrical wiring runs discreetly through the base, concealed beneath a custom metal cover. These lamps stand out for their clean, minimalist design and the soft, sophisticated glow they cast in the room. Crafted between 1980 and 1985 in an artisan workshop on the outskirts of Milan, they reflect the skill and sensitivity of master craftsmen attuned to the aesthetic and functional trends of their time. The spere, of old production, are made of handblown Murano glass using the traditional “mezza filigrana” technique—developed in Murano between the second and third decades of the 16th century. Each globe is formed from a single piece of glass, decorated with delicate gray ribbons that spiral rhythmically across the surface, creating a striking visual effect. Influenced by Modernist design with echoes of postwar Italian aesthetics, these lamps embody a perfect balance of craftsmanship, timeless elegance, and premium materials. They are one-of-a-kind pieces that bring character and refined style to any interior. We have carried out a complete restoration: the brass bases have been carefully brushed and polished to restore their original luster, and the entire electrical system has been replaced with new European wiring. We recommend checking voltage compatibility with a qualified electrician before use outside the EU. Thanks to these restoration efforts, the lamps are presented in excellent condition.
