An exceptional pair of large Italian table lamps, the ‘Prisma’ model, manufactured in the 1990s. These monumental lamps combine solid, faceted marble bases in a deep lapis lazuli blue with gold-coloured metal elements and wide, sweeping hemispherical shades made of white opal glass. Particularly striking is the lamps’ strictly geometric architecture: the tall, tapered marble bodies form a stark contrast to the soft curves of the opal-white shades. Gold-coloured veining in the deep-blue stone and the gleaming metal accents lend the design an additional touch of luxurious Art Deco revival. Standing approximately 52 cm tall and weighing around 4 kg per lamp, the pair has a remarkably strong spatial presence. An impressive example of Italian postmodern design, suitable for sideboards, bedside tables, console tables or as a symmetrical statement pair in a spacious interior.
