The Staff 5480 pendant lamp, designed by Rolf Krüger in 1968 for Staff & Schwarz Leuchtenwerke GMBH in Lemgo (Germany), is an example of timeless design from the late 1960s. The model is distinguished by a round, conical aluminum shade finished in an intense red color, which gives it a distinctive, modernist character. In 1969, the design was honored with the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD, confirming its innovation and significance in the history of lighting design. The lamp was produced in three color versions, but regardless of the finish, they were all marked with the label 5480/1/2, which often leads to confusion in identifying individual models. Today, Staff 5480 is a sought-after classic of mid-century modern design, valued both for its minimalist form and historical significance in the Staff catalog.
