Ikea Hestra model rattan lounge chair, 1982. Inspired by Tito Agnoli Design for Bonacina. Chair with suspended iron structure, covered in wicker. Ikea's Hestra lounge chair, released in 1982, is a minimalist, ergonomic piece designed in a style reminiscent of the P3 lounge chair by famous Italian designer Tito Agnoli. While the P3 was produced by Bonacina in the 1960s, Ikea's Hestra has a similar aesthetic, with a woven rattan surface supported by a tubular steel frame. This lightweight yet sturdy chair has been designed to be used both indoors and outdoors and its comfortable, sloping design makes it particularly attractive. The Hestra has become a sought-after vintage object, admired for its organic appearance and timeless functionality. Its construction, which uses natural wicker and metal, gives it long-lasting durability, displaying a beautiful patina after years of use.
