Pair of vintage sconces: the base is a sturdy, glossy black plastic cylinder, slightly hollowed out at the top where the metal frame fits; the upper section consists of an oval/elliptical chrome-plated metal shell composed of two curved elements that overlap, creating an inclined front opening that directs light. These wall sconces offer a more than diffused, directed light thanks to the shell-like shape of the shell; the style recalls the “space age” or modern design of the second half of the twentieth century, with rounded lines and a strong material contrast that makes them decorative as well as functional objects.
