A rare Italian mid-century crystal wisky decanter with its original silver-plated cylindrical collar and matching stopper, produced by ARNOLFO DI CAMBIO (AdC) in the late 1960s and designed by SERGIO ASTI designer.
Provenance: an Italian private collection, carefully preserved.
The dodecagonal body is decorated with three horizontal bands of twelve faceted squares, each with a central raised edge.
This geometric language and the proportions are strongly related to the works of Sergio Asti for Arnolfo di Cambio from the same period (such as the “Onde” series), and the piece can be confidently attributed to the designer.
The decanter bears the original Arnolfo di Cambio silver plate hallmark, with shield and figure marks, stamped on the upper part of the silver-plated collar and on the top of the stopper.
The ARNOLFO DI CAMBIO brand is also stamped on the base of the crystal decanter.
This type of hallmarking is typical of AdC metal-mounted productions of the late 1960s.
The stopper retains its original cork, in used vintage condition.
