Item description

Rare armchair designed by Koželka & Kropáček in the 1940s. This model was awarded the Silver Medal at the Milan Triennale in 1946, placing it among the internationally recognized examples of early Czech modernist design. The chair features a sculptural bent beech wood frame with elegant continuous armrests — a hallmark of the designers’ refined structural approach. The wood construction has been professionally restored and finished in a dark stain, preserving the original geometry while ensuring structural integrity. The upholstery has been newly made in a smooth golden velvet fabric. The padded element forms a single continuous curved piece from seat to backrest and is fully removable. What distinguishes this piece: – Award-winning modernist design (Milan Triennale 1946 – Silver Medal) – Sculptural bentwood construction – Restored original frame – New removable velvet upholstery – Strong collector and interior statement value A historically important and visually distinctive armchair suitable for collectors of Central European modernism as well as refined contemporary interiors.
