Item description

Finely carved alabaster sculpture depicting a sleeping cherub or cherub, lying on draped fabric with an outstretched arm and holding two small fruits. The figure has delicate features, curled hair and small wings, suggesting an angelic or mythological theme. The base appears to be made of a darker stone, perhaps marble or granite, and has a plaque engraved with the name 'L. DELVAUX (1695-1778)'.
