Elegant and refined square tea or coffee table in the Art Deco style, crafted between 1930 and 1935 in an artisanal workshop in Lissone (Monza-Brianza, Italy), an area historically renowned for its excellence in fine cabinetry and high-quality furniture production. The piece was conceived as a compact yet distinctive furnishing element, defined by clean, well-balanced lines that express a timeless sophistication. Its design combines formal restraint with stylistic refinement; the strong linearity lends the table a dignified and subtly dynamic presence. The entire structure is made of solid walnut, enhanced by a premium walnut veneer in Juglans regia, commonly known as European or English walnut. This prized wood species is valued for its excellent workability, durability, and naturally beautiful grain. For these reasons, European walnut has traditionally been used in the production of high-end furniture. The square top is supported by four sturdy rectangular-section legs and is framed by an elegant rounded edge molding. A secondary shelf, positioned just below the main top, creates a harmonious sense of proportion and visual lightness, enhancing the overall balance of the composition. Walnut’s inherent qualities—particularly its suitability for sanding, staining, and polishing—have allowed for a finely finished surface that highlights the depth and richness of the wood grain. The result is a piece of furniture with understated sophistication, capable of enriching an interior with warmth and refined elegance. The table is in good condition.
