This imposing fountain is ideal both as a furnishing element for luxurious interiors and for winter gardens. Produced in Vietri in the early 90s of the last century, it consists of 4 parts: the upper decoration, the front panel, the collection tank and the pedestal. With bright and lively colors that fade into various shades of green and ocher, the fountain has an elaborate artistic design. An impactful decorative element is the lion head sculpted in high relief on the vertical panel, whose bronze finish highlights the mane. In the upper and lower parts of the lion's head there are two fan or shell decorations in shades of ocher. The large collection tank is also in the same color and is highlighted by the forest green of the surface. The support is decorated with festoon and chain motifs that complement the monumental aesthetic of the piece. The glazed terracotta of Vietri, commonly known as Vietri ceramic, is an excellence of Campania craftsmanship that has its roots in a thousand-year past. It is neither simple terracotta nor porcelain, but belongs to the family of artistic glazed ceramics: the hand-modelled clay undergoes a first firing, is then covered with a white vitreous glaze which makes it waterproof and shiny, on which painted decorations are applied, and then finishes with a second firing at around 1000°C to fix the brilliant colours.
