Description: Pair of double-handled Napoleon III vases in Griotte red marble with inserts of finely chiseled gilded bronze elements. The main body has an elongated ovoid shape with a slender profile set on a tapered neck. The gilded bronze frame constitutes a decorative element of particular executive quality while the lid has a pine cone-shaped grip. The high and vertically developed side handles are made of bronze with a square section with an elegant geometric pattern. The lower part is contained within a circular podded frame and decorated with vegetal motifs in the underlying part. Conditions: Good condition. Provenance: 19th century France.
