Splendid color lithograph by the Venetian master Virgilio Guidi (1891-1984), depicting one of his most famous and lyrical themes: the view of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. The work embodies the typical poetics of Guidi's spatialism, where the suspended architecture and the lagoon merge in an absolute light, punctuated by essential chromatic touches of blue, ocher and sienna. This specific sheet (format of the work approximately 50x40 cm within a frame with overall measurements 78x56) is a precious Prova d'Autore (P.A.) signed in pencil at the bottom right by the artist and initialed on the left, a detail that makes it ideal for demanding collectors of Italian twentieth century art. State of conservation and presentation: The work is in excellent conservative conditions. The colors maintain their original delicacy and the paper shows no obvious blooms. It is offered complete with an elegant wooden frame, which enhances its classic style and makes it ready to hang and enhance living rooms, studies or environments with a refined design. Of note is a small scratch of a few millimeters on one side of the frame, almost invisible.
