Item description

Description: Ancient Neapolitan stoup in embossed copper depicting the Baptism of Christ belonging to the 19th century. The object presents a symmetrical vertical development divided into three decorative registers. The cymatium features an apical Latin cross flanked by two symmetrical putti in the round while below the cross the dove of the Holy Spirit is depicted in a ray of light above a geometric drapery. The central body features an oval medallion with the Baptism of Christ in high relief in the centre. The base has a small lobed basin for holy water decorated with a central cherub face. Conditions: Excellent condition. Provenance: Naples 19th century. Measurements: 28x18 H3cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity.
