MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE PLATE Diameter: 22.5 cm Elegant Mason's Patent Ironstone China deep dinner plate, decorated in the famous "Mandalay" motif, one of the most representative and sought-after of English manufacturing in the early nineteenth century. The plate has a slightly wavy shaped edge, characteristic of Regency shapes, and is embellished with a printed and hand painted decoration on an ivory background. The decoration develops with rich polychrome floral motifs - peonies and stylized flowers in shades of pink, iron red, green and yellow - intertwined with foliate scrolls in intense cobalt blue with gold highlights, according to an orientalizing taste reinterpreted in a European key. The central cable is animated by elegant spirals and small floral motifs, while the brim is marked by a refined alternation of flowers and scrolls, giving balance and movement to the whole. The quality of the print and subsequent hand painting testifies to a high level of production On the back there is the printed brand "Mason's - Patent Ironstone - Mandalay - Made in England", with crown, accompanied by the number "80", identifying the shape or production batch, consistent with the production of the first decade of the 20th century.
