The "Baia Mode" modular sofa, a two-piece unit designed by Antonio Citterio and Paolo Nava for B&B Italia in the 1970s, features two independent modules that can be joined together. Its soft, enveloping lines perfectly express the typical design language of 1970s Italian design. It features two enveloping seats that offer ample and particularly comfortable seating, with a reclined backrest designed to ensure excellent ergonomic support. The modularity of the system also allows the elements to be used individually or combined for a wider seating area. One photo shows an iron element that holds the two armchairs together when they are close together. The internal structure is made of polyurethane foam, while the velvet upholstery, in excellent condition, features a pattern of thin vertical stripes in shades of salmon pink, terracotta, and pale orange. Fully removable, the covers feature the iconic quilting that defines the backrest and seat, emphasizing the comfort and welcoming feel of the model. The perimeter profiles highlighted by the stitching give further definition to the soft, geometric shapes of the individual elements. The supporting frame is made of ABS. The original B&B Italia labels are present under each module, confirming the authenticity of the assembly. Condition: Excellent overall condition, consistent with its age and use.
