Pair of Thonet Armchairs for Jacob & Josef Kohn – St. Louis 1904, Restored. A rare pair of bentwood armchairs, the result of a collaboration between Thonet and Jacob & Josef Kohn, originally presented at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. These perfectly restored pieces represent one of the finest expressions of the Viennese Art Nouveau style of the early 20th century. The sinuous, light lines, typical of the Austrian school of design, combine with a solid, elegant frame in steam-bent beech. Both pieces bear the Thonet design mark and are now considered rare museum pieces.
