English Davenport desk in walnut and walnut root, Victorian style, half of the 19th century
Elegant Victorian Davenport desk, in walnut wood and walnut root with an openable tilted top covered in the central part in leather, with three drawers inside (the two high ones only pretendsdrawers). Resting on four fully functional wheels, has in the upper part with an additional urn compartment, openable, with internal compartments. The four drawers on the right side are working, while the four on the left side are pretended drawers. The frontal part has two supports with double volute carved in wood of walnut tree. This is a centerpiece furniture finished in all its parts, made in England, in the mid 19th century. The conservation status is good, the cabinet needs some small interventions. The leather top is original with signs of time. The 16 drawer knobs are all present but some have been replaced over time. The locks of the two rooms are present with their own mechanisms and all originals; the locks of the four drawers are all present, two originals and two replaced over time.
