Item description

Richly carved solid walnut armchair, unique and comfortable. It is upholstered with the original cream velvet fabric. The woodwork is in very good condition. As strong and stable as the day it was made, this chair from the Horrix brothers is a typical example of the Black Forest style, decorated with leaves, branches and acorns. Gebroeders Horrix existed until 1891, so any furniture was made by the end of the 19th century at the latest. They are known to have made the throne for the former Dutch king Willem III de Wilhelmina in the mid-19th century. Seat height: 38cm.
