Genoese library attributable to Henry Thomas Peters, consisting of a large consultation table, bookrest, wall cupboard with writing compartment and eight bookcases with racks, three of which are paired, of different sizes; one of the pairs has two doors, which originally bore a grille. The carvings on the uprights all show slight differences in design. The furniture is made of mahogany and veneered with mahogany feathers, with oak interiors; the locks are marked "VAGO", an important Milanese company. The library can be attributed to Peters because of the style and high quality of the carving, both of the uprights wavy and worked with leaf motifs, and of the pincered frames and lion feet that support the lectern. The taste in carving is clearly inspired by the Palagians.
