SILVER Seller in Bologna, Italy

Item description

The RR 126 model is a radio-phonograph designed by brothers Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni in 1964, commissioned and subsequently produced by the Italian electronics company Brionvega. It was born as a stereophonic equipment, which became an icon of pop design of the '60s. The RR 126, with its anthropomorphic shape that, however, did not give up the reference to technology, will be one of the status symbols of the '60s and one of the most sought after pieces of modern art of the '80s and '90s. Exemplars of this radiophone are exhibited at the Triennale in Milan, at the Moma in New York and for a period also at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Measurements when closed: width 61 cm, depth 36.5 cm, height 91 cm.
