The designer Giancarlo Piretti has revolutionized the concept of folding chair and his study of the "3-disc pivot" is considered a stroke of genius. The combination of steel and polypropylene frame paved the way for the Plia chair and Pluff stool, which have become cult objects. Piretti was nicknamed the "Thonet of the 20th century" and entered the history of design. The two stools are original from 1974.
