Item description

Murano glass table lamp made with the technique called Reticello or Doppia Filigrana, one of the most difficult hot techniques to execute, invented in Murano around the middle of the 16th century. The Reticello glass processing technique is a variant of filigree obtained from the double interlacing arrangement of the canes used for decoration. In practice, two rows of overlapping and crossed canes are formed and then fused together. The lamp, signed Venini on the base, carries a light bulb with E27 attack. Once turned on, the intertwining of the decoration creates a fascinating light effect. The glass globe is in excellent condition, the painted aluminum base shows some slight signs of use.
