Pair of bedside tables by Vittorio Dassi, 1950s

Pair of bedside tables by Vittorio Dassi, 1950s 1

Item description

Magnificent and unique design for this pair of Italian side tables, featuring an unusual sculptural shape very well designed by Vittorio and Plinio Dassi in the 1950s. These bedside tables are highly collectible, functional and elegant, and would enhance any interior style by adding a chic touch. Each bedside table has a drawer with a reverse coloured glass on top in a beautiful bright blue and topped, on the second surface, by a green glass shelf, very thick and finely decorated on the sides, probably made by Barovier & Toso in Murano. Both objects are to be considered in excellent period condition as shown in the pictures, with slight signs of wear consistent with age and delicate use, with no structural damage and now ready for use. Only a small defect is present on the lower edge of one of the two transparent glass shelves, not noticeable at first glance, and in any case does not affect the overall aesthetics. Vittorio Dassi was one of the most important Italian designers and manufacturers of the Mid-Century Modern period, all his items are very elegant and charming, always well designed and finished with fine materials. Dassi Mobili Moderni was also the main cabinetmaker chosen by Gio Ponti.
